I am shifting my Cinematography blog to here. Please forgive me if I have broken your link to my site, however the transition from .mac to mobileMe was pretty awful!
This site will continue to do what the previous site was intended to do – Inform people what I’m currently doing, find a place to store my Images, both moving and still, and to record where I have traveled! Quite often I find myself working with people who do not speak English very well ( and I don’t speak their language), so I have found this blog to be very useful. I use it to explain Camera, Lighting and Gripping setups to crew and Producers etc. and you know what they say about a picture!!!
Slowly I will bring over images and Blog entries from the previous site but this is a big job.
Many thanks Karl

Lane Way Girl!

The sands of time are running out for the central star of this the Hourglass Nebula. With its nuclear fuel exhausted, this brief, spectacular, closing phase of a sun-like star's life occurs as its outer layers are ejected and its core becomes a cooling, fading white dwarf. In 1995, astronomers used the Hubble Space Telescope to make a series of images of planetary nebulae, including the one above. Here, delicate rings of colorful glowing gas (nitrogen-red, hydrogen-green, and oxygen-blue) outline the tenuous walls of the 'hourglass.' The unprecedented sharpness of Hubble's images revealed surprising details of the nebula ejection process and may resolve the outstanding mystery of the variety of complex shapes and symmetries of planetary nebulae. - Samsung suggests Galaxy Tab will cost between $200 and $400 -- also coming to Vodafone UK 5 September, 2010Early reports indicate Europe will pay a pretty penny for Samsung's Galaxy Tab, but the 7-inch tablet may cost a good bit less when it comes to US shores -- the Wall Street Journal paraphrases a Samsung executive who claims it could run between $200 and $300 depending on the all-important carrier subsidies. The Korea Times, meanwhile, suggests a $300 to […]
- PS3 jailbreak adapted to Nokia N900, Palm Pre in wake of Australian ban (video) 5 September, 2010Two weeks ago you'd have to pay an Australian importer for a specialized USB key. Four days ago open-source software let you roll your own. Today, there's no need for any of that -- you can hack your PS3 with a tethered smartphone. Working closely with the PSGroove team, hacker Kakaroto adapted the same jailbreak to the Nokia N900, and the open-sou […]

The lens is designed for close-up depth perception in the 3 to 15 foot range, and doesn't have any zoom capability. Luckily, it isn't too hard to pop the screw-on lens off, givi […]
